Hey all~ I know it's beena while since my last journal entry ~_~'' Sorrrry.
So what's been happening? Well, I've been violently shoved into my freelance career! (Yay?). It was something I had always planned to do, but something that happened way sooner than I expected.
And let me tell ya, it's rough getting started
I've been working on quite a few decent freelance gigs, but ensuring bills get paid and whatnot is very stressful! I have to say though, even with all the stress I'm still a lot happier than I was at my previous place of employment.
Moving right along...
I've been checking out a lot of artists' Patreon sites and I love the concept of fans supporting their favorite artists. I know I'm not as good as some of the folks on there, but I would love to have the time to make more tutorials and really help people learn digital art. I am also on the fence about starting a cute webcomic about my corgi, Wrex. However, freelance gigs keep my very tied up, so I thought Patreon would be a great way to free up some time.
I would really like some feedback from my watches on Deviantart
My idea would be to do a tutorial a week with reference sheets and .PSD workshops. Bi-weekly, I would like to do a video walkthrough of a tutorial as well as host exclusive learning livestreams for my patreons.
The .PSD workshops would be set up to allow people to practice coloring in line art without having to worry about preparing the layers or file. I'll also have .PSDs of completed projects so users can hide/unhide layers to get an idea of my work process.
So let me know guys - is this something people would want to be a part of?
On a completely unrelated note - I am giving away a free commission for whoever catches my 25,000 hit!
Just link a screenshot - First person who gets it, gets a commission.
Thanks guys, take care!
